Remembrance is a vital part of what we do as a community that worships. During the month of November, we remember, as a community, all those we have loved, who have died. We recognize that one of your loved ones has died this year. The Liturgy Ministries at the Church of the Holy Family and St. Columba invite you to share in any special Remembrance Mass on Sunday November 1, at all the Masses. During the Mass, you are also invited, if you wish, to come forward during the Prayers of the Faithful to light a candle in remembrance of your loved one who has died this past year. We will then, all pray together for all who have come before us and have given us so much to remember and celebrate, as a sign of God’s love for them and for us and a sign of our support and love for each other. We will once again display photographs of our lost loved ones throughout the month of November. If you are willing to share a photo, we ask that you bring a picture that can stand on its own and is no bigger than 5x7”. Please attach a piece of paper to the back with the name of your loved one, the date of their birth and death, and also your name and phone number. When you come up to light a candle, bring that picture with you and it will be placed in our Church for display. If you are not comfortable coming forward to light a candle, we will put the picture in place prior to the start of Mass. At the end of November, it is your responsibility to come in and retrieve your picture. For planning purposes, we ask that you let us know if you will be with us and participating in this special Mass. We hope that you are able to attend and share in this Mass of remembrance and love.
