We will be kicking off our 2010/2011 Youth Programs following 5:00 Youth Mass by heading to the Hebron Harvest Fair and competing in our annual Scavenger Hunt. We'll break off into teams to see who can most quickly seek out some of the more "unique" attractions at the fair and secure this year's Grand Prize. And, bonus prizes will be awarded as well for those who can solve a few brain teasers, too.
Lastly, we will be having a new contest each Youth Night this year. Anyone who brings a friend to a Youth Night who has never been before will be entered into a drawing for a gift card at the end of the night. So, feel free to bring a friend.
We will be leaving for the fair after 5:00 Youth Mass. If you are interested in joining us, please let us know so we can arrange transportation. Please be aware that you will need to pay for your own admission to the fair as well as any items you wish to purchase when inside. If you are not going to Mass but would like to meet us at the Fair on Saturday night, please let us know and we'll arrange to meet you there.
To RSVP, email ciarrocchim@gmail.com or call/text 501-9258. Hope to see you there!
2010-2011 Theme
Give Me Your Eyes
Well, it seems as if another summer vacation is over. It's amazing to think that a few short months ago, we were all wondering where the school year had gone. Now, we're wondering what happened to our summer. As you begin the new school year, we pray that you each feel the love of God and the peace of the Holy Spirit surrounding you.
After taking in feedback from members of the Youth Group all summer, we are excited to announce some upcoming changes to this year's Youth Program:
In addition to our monthly Youth Nights which follow our 2nd Saturday Youth Masses, we will be adding a second monthly event called "Christ in Action". This event will be focused on reaching out to help those in need. You all have provided some awesome ideas about charities that need our help. And, we intend to use them.
We will conduct two Bible Study sessions in the Fall (Sept-November) and the Spring (Lent). They will run every other week and focus on two separate themes.
We will change the location of most youth nights to the Ciarrocchi house instead of the Church unless we need that space or are going somewhere for youth night.
We have some new youth nights that we are creating for you
We have two youth members who will be joining the Liturgy Committee. They will take the responsibility of improving our monthly Youth Mass to truly focus more on the needs of high schoolers.
Several more "surprises" are still being developed which will be announced shortly
Our Theme: It was wonderful to hear so many of you ask that we do more charitable and social outreach this year. It shows that you all have heard the call of Jesus to show His love to others by caring for the needy. In this way, you truly are showing that you see with the eyes of Christ. It is in that Spirit that we have selected our theme for this year. Based on the song of the same title by Brandon Heath, our theme this year will be "Give Me Your Eyes." We'll be sharing this song with you a great deal throughout the year as we pray that the Holy Spirit will allow us to see the world as Christ sees it, and that we reach out to serve it the same way. If you'd like to listen now, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the website and click on our playlist to hear it.

Steubenville East
Trip Report
As we prepare for for our final day, please
continue to keep
the kids in your prayers and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's love to
them.
Day 1 Recap: In spite of having to dodge some
nasty weather, today was an
amazing start to our Steubenville Conference. We arrived around 1:00 and
checked in and then ran through the rain to the URI Student Union. There
we
held some ice breakers and small group activities with just the kids
from Holy
Family.
Then, it was off to dinner and the start of the Conference.
The
theme this year
is from John 1:14: "The Word became Flesh." The talks are focused on
the amazing love God has for us by coming down from His throne Heaven
being
with us. The kids got warmed up with some great music, heard some talks,
and
then experienced Adoration. As usual, the kids are always amazed at how
much
they enjoy Adoration, though they really find words to describe the
situation
We're off to bed now. Don't forget to check out the videos and photos at
the
links below. Please continue to pray for the teens and ask the Holy
Spirit to
bring them closer to their God.
See several
broadcasts live (thanks to the Iphone4!) with messages back from the
kids. Simply follow our UStream feed at: www.ustream.tv/channel/cohf-youth
(Sorry for the poor video quality...It's all being sent over a cell
phone network!)
Welcome to the Youth Ministry of The Church of the Holy Family. We provide an opportunity for Parish Youth to experience fun and fellowship through each other and Jess Christ.
Youth Night: On the 2nd Saturday night of every month, we hold our Youth Night. It begins with our youth Mass at 5:00 followed by a brief group discussion. Immediately following that discussion, we hold our fellowship activity. Past events include dodgeball, game night, bowling, and Laser Quest.
